as a vintage buyer since 2013, i’ve been welcomed into dozens of homes over the years to go through beautiful, old things and help determine what is of value and interest. with this often comes a responsibility to also help decide what is garbage and what should end up in the thrift store donation pile. this begins the organizational journey.

In this last decade+ I have worked in every possible condition - in extreme heat and cold - from barns and attics to perfectly organized storage units and bedrooms to utter falling-down-asbestos-covered-chaos. Being on the hunt for good vintage also means getting dirty.

I have connected people with alternative resources for moving pieces that i couldn’t purchase, as well as buyers in niche markets like primitives, vintage toys and mcm furniture. now that my focus is on vintage handbags and jewelry, my buying appointments have changed drastically. but my organizational skills are still sharp.

i realized many years ago now, that the hardest part for people when clearing out the home of a loved one after death or a move, is emotional attachment to these things - along with memories and grief. as an outsider experienced in vintage, Being able to see things separate from myself and organize a “mess” that isn’t mine, comes naturally.
