Who We Are

Stash Collective opened its doors in April of 2013 in Harrisburg PA and is co-owned and co-operated by Haley Harned, Jen Merrill, Anela Bence-Selkowitz and Jess Flynn.

We carry a wide selection of vintage, handmade, repurposed and hand-altered clothing, accessories,  housewares and furniture pieces. As a collective, our common goal is to bring new life to older items that still have a lot of life left. We believe in supporting local art, providing reasonably priced merchandise in a wide range of styles and sizes, and offering customers an alternative and sustainable shopping experience by up-cycling what's been left behind.

Most of our items are “vintage” (20 years or older), but we have a great mix of fun, stylish, everyday-vintage-wear and home accents for everyone. We sell men’s and women’s clothing, swimwear, jewelry, accessories, ties, belts, purses, shoes, housewares like dishes, ashtrays, bottles, vases, shakers, trinkets & figurines, jewelry boxes, frames, photos & art, candles, wall hangings, small furniture pieces, handmade items from local vendors and more.

Haley Harned

Born : Pennsylvania

Other Work : Freelance Editorial, Portrait, and Architectural Photographer

VintageHaley has been a thrift store, yard sale, and flea market shopper her entire life. At first not by free will, but by the frugal nature of her mother. As a teen she realized the value of American and handmade clothing and goods and has been hooked ever since.

Haley was born and raised in North Western Pennsylvania. From 2004-2008 she traveled to the South to attend The Savannah College of Art and Design and received a BFA with a focus on photography and drawing. After college she came back to her native state of Pennsylvania. She worked in Pittsburgh as a freelance commercial photographer, retoucher, and digital printmaker for 5 years. Haley moved to Harrisburg in 2012 and was instantly inspired by the small but mighty local art community and powerful female professionals in the area. www.haleyharned.com

Anela Bence-Selkowitz

Born : California

Other Work : Photographer, Art Director & Asst Producer for Cowboy Bear Ninja, Co-Owner of Studio A, Freelance Photographer

Vintage : 1996-1999 thrift store shopping addict, 2005-2013 vintage Etsy store owner, 2012 Vintage Closet Nights held at Studio A

Upon moving from Los Angeles in 2010 and having to start from scratch, Anela began again by transferring her vintage Etsy store from LA to HBG. She started photography back up with a new venture in Boudoir and Pinup and soon after, opened Studio A with local photographer Alan Wycheck. When Stash work and photo gigs subside, she hosts gallery openings for local artists at the studio and works on her own fine art photo projects. anelaphotographer.com

Jen Merrill

Born : Pennsylvania

Other Work : Freelance Writer, Contributing Editor at Harrisburg Magazine and Lehigh Valley Magazine, Today's The Day Harrisburg Columnist

Vintage : Jen fell in love with thrifting in high school, much to her mother's discontent. Anytime she'd wander through the door with plastic bags stuffed full, her mother would roll her eyes and ask, "What did you buy now?" After rocking an altered vintage pink satin dolman sleeve number (which she swears mimicked the silhouette of a Fall 2007 Ready-To-Wear Lanvin look) to her senior year homecoming, she was officially hooked.

Jen graduated with a Bachelors of Humanities in Communications from Pennsylvania State University in 2012. A Mechanicsburg native, she now lives in Harrisburg with her toddler-aged daughter, Audrey, who is a constant source of inspiration. And clutter. But mainly the inspiration thing. jen-merrill.com

Jessica Flynn

Born : Pennsylvania

Other Work : Freelance Seamstress

Vintage : Been on the hunt since 1995 with no signs of stopping.

Flynn, a Harrisburg native, is excited to be living in her hometown again after 12 years and many journeys. She received her BA from Temple University in 2004 and is still paying back her student loans. Flynn believes solidly in sustainability, and that a little mending goes a long way.
